Each year, the Emily Taylor Center for Women and Gender Equity sponsors the Jana Mackey Lecture Series. This yearly distinguished event honors the legacy of Jana Mackey, a fearless advocate for gender equity on our campus who lost her life in a tragic act of domestic violence. This year, the lecture will feature MSNBC's Melissa Harris-Perry. Melissa is a widely acclaimed author, scholar, and media personality and she will be speaking on the intricate roles of race and privilege in understanding the scope of domestic violence. The talk is on Monday, October 27 at 7:30pm in the Lied Center. We hope to see you there!
