KU Wins Two Prestigious Graduate Fellowships

Friday, January 9, 2015

The Communication Studies department has been awarded two Graduate Fellowships for students in the 2015-2016 academic year.  The fellowships are designated for a first-year student and also a first-year student from an underrepresented class.  The fellowships reflect an ongoing commitment of the program to academic rigor, research and teaching excellence, and diversity. Students receiving the fellowships can be appointed as GTAs in following years in order to complete their degree.  The fellowships are awarded by Graduate Studies based on a rigorous competition. The fact that the department received two fellowships for a second year in a row is one more sign of the quality and reputation of the program.  All students who apply to the program will be considered for the fellowships.  Questions about the fellowships or any other aspect of the program should be addressed to the Director of Graduate Studies, Robert C. Rowland — rrowland@ku.edu.
