Through Lambda Pi Eta you can network within the department and serve the undergraduate Communication Studies community. Some of Lambda Pi Eta's objectives include:
- Providing an opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas in the field of communication;
- Establishing and maintaining closer relationships and mutual understanding between communication studies faculty and students;
- Exploring options for graduate education in communication studies; and
- Promoting and encouraging professional development among communication studies majors.
As a member of Lambda Pi Eta you will engage in activities that will support both our campus community and the larger Lawrence community. In the past, Lambda Pi Eta members have participated in planning the Communication Studies department's graduation ceremony and held a panel discussion on applying to graduate school. We hope to bring in professionals from a variety of fields to talk about what you can do with a degree in Communication Studies. Lambda Pi Eta members have also gathered together for community service activities and fun! These ideas and others have come from active undergraduate members of Lambda Pi Eta. We hope you will consider serving in this organization and helping us to determine how we can serve the Communication Studies undergraduate community.
Membership is based on four qualifications:
