Dr. Alesia Woszidlo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Studies as well as the Director of the Institute for Leadership Studies at the University of Kansas. She is the Co-PI and Academic Director of the Women’s Global Leadership Consortium and serves as a Co-Director of the Kansas Women’s Leadership Institute. Dr. Alesia is an interpersonal communication scholar whose specialty is family communication. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses such as Family Communication; Communication, Leadership, and Conflict Management; Stress and Coping in Interpersonal Communication; and Behavioral and Social Science Research Methods. Her research examines the intersection of communication processes, mental health, family functioning, and relationship quality within the context of family relationships. She also researches the associations among effective leadership and leadership programming. Specifically, she examines factors that influence the engagement in and effectiveness of one's leadership and capacity to thrive in their personal and professional relationships and the communities they belong to.
