Joseph Kauffman

I am a rhetorician who studies the construction, use, and reception of narratives in American politics and popular culture. My work on political rhetoric is concentrated on narratives of the American right, with a particular focus on the post-2016 Republican Party, right-wing illiberalism, Christian nationalism, populism, and right-wing extremism. My work on popular culture examines narrative media, with a particular focus on film, television, and video games.
