Biography

Saiemeh Wahidi is pursuing her Ph.D. in Communication Studies. Before beginning her doctoral studies, she earned an M.A. in Leadership in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) with an emphasis on Gender Studies from the University of Kansas, and a B.A. in Law and Political Science with a focus on Judiciary and Prosecution from Herat University in Afghanistan.

Saiemeh's research focuses on stigmatized identities and interpersonal communication, with a particular emphasis on the experiences of BIPOC women faculty in predominantly white institutions (PWIs) from a communication perspective.

In addition, Saiemeh has significant expertise in coaching and mentoring, having served as a Debate Coach at both the University of Kansas and Herat University. She currently coaches KU’s British Parliamentary (BP) debate team.
